Welcome to the Nepal Japanese Culture Exchange Foundation (NJCEF). We are a Kathmandu-based non profit dedicated to building strong bonds between the people of Nepal and Japan. Our Mission

At NJCEF, our mission is to strengthen Nepal–Japan friendship through shared culture and education. We celebrate the rich traditions of both countries and promote mutual respect and goodwill. By organizing cultural events, language classes, and exchange programs, we help people from Nepal and Japan connect on a personal level.

Cultural & Educational Programs

We run a variety of exchange programs that bring Nepalis and Japanese together:

• Student Exchange: We support Nepal–Japan student exchange programs that let young people study in each other’s country. These exchange visits help youths learn about each other’s society and strengthen ties.

• Cultural Workshops: We organize language and cultural workshops and events. Participants experience Nepalese and Japanese traditions like music, dance, and cuisine. For example, festivals may feature Nepalese cuisine, traditional costumes, and folk dance promoting understanding of each country’s heritage.

• Language & Community Classes: We offer Japanese language and culture classes in Nepal and Nepali language and culture classes in Japan. Learning each other’s language is “one of the major driving forces for promoting mutual understanding”, and we believe it helps bridge cultures.

Community Initiatives

In addition to cultural exchange, NJCEF is committed to community development. We organize social programs like education sponsorship, food drives, and health camps to support local needs. Volunteers from Japan and Nepal work together in villages and cities across Nepal. These community projects allow our members to contribute to Nepal’s development and experience cross-cultural cooperation firsthand.

Our Vision

We envision a future where people of Nepal and Japan live in mutual understanding and friendship. In that future, they freely share their heritage and traditions. Through ongoing cultural exchange and education, we strive to build a peaceful, inclusive community where both nations learn and grow together.
